Fruitful Faith- An 8 Day Devotional

Long time no post, I know. Between work, school (college classes started!), and church, it seems there simply has not been enough time in the week. However, I believe that the Lord has laid on my heart to share with you what I have been learning in my personal Bible study. As I literally cannonball into the school year, I have been fervently studying 1 Peter 1:5-7 which says:

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

For the past few weeks, I have been taking a characteristic a day to journal about, study in depth, and work on applying to my life. I haven’t been entirely consistent with this, since a few characteristics took several days to study and some days I randomly decided to study a Proverb or a Psalm. Anyway, I have decided to share my notes with you in the form of an 8-day devotional. So, for the next 8 days or so, I will be posting a devotional for each characteristic in succession. At the end of the 8 days, I will post the entire pdf version at the bottom of this post. I hope you will benefit from my scribbles and I would absolutely love to see what God is teaching you in the comments or through email. For right now, I advise that you read all of 1 Peter chapter 1 several times before you start “Day 1- Faith” tomorrow. I’m very excited to start this bloggathon, in the middle of which is my bloggiversary on Thursday. Enjoy!

(PS: I didn’t think of that awesome title up there. I found it on Google images. In fact, all of the definitions and images in this entire study are from Google)
